Allentown. Pa June 13. 1976 Whitehall graduate to cycle cross-country Research firm founder dies (C) The New York Times Accidents U. Nazareth crash fatal to motorist Kevin C. Getz, 21, of Bethlehem R.l, died yesterday after the auto he was driving went out of control on Old Mauch Chunk Road in Upper Nazareth Township and crashed into a tree.

Northampton County Coroner Joseph Reichel said Getz failed to negotiate a sharp curve. He died of Keith Haberern, a Whitehall High School graduate, leaves Yorktown, tomorrow for a crosscountry bicycle trip. He hopes to reach his destination, Reedsport, after 55 days of cycling. His route has been planned by Bike-Centennial, a nonprofit organization headquartered in Missoula, Mont. Bike-Centennial has planned a variety of routes across the country and shorter routes in different regions of the states.

The organization also promotes bicycle touring. Haberern won't be traveling alone there'll be 11 other cyclists in his group and they'll travel an average of 82 miles daily in six or seven hours. A member of the Lehigh Wheelmen Association and a veteran of numerous bike races. Haberern plans to take along everything from replacement spokes to chain links and spare tires. He is a son of Mr.

and Mrs. William Haberern of Fullerton. He plans to enter the Pennsylvania State University in the fall to study architectural engineering. Hospital fete gets a boost from weather Near perfect weather helped bring out the crowds that made this year's Quakertown Hospital lawn fete a "real success." Norman Stahl, chairman, reported about 2,500 turned out for the opening of the two-day event Friday night in Memorial Park. Reports indicated the crowds were just as good yesterday.

Stahl recalled that last year, the annual event was hurt by rain on opening night. Long lines of people waited patiently for rides on this year's new attraction a big, red, 75-foot-high balloon that lifted passengers 50 feet above the park. Other new attractions were kiddie rides including a whip, moon walk and ponies. As usual, all borough service organizations took part. Hospital board president Philip Miller donned a Kiwanis apron to sell balloons.

Other service clubs participating included Lions, Rotary, Jaycees, Sorop-timists, Business and Professional Women, Jaycee-ettes, Catholic Women's Club. Quakertown's Woman's Auxiliary. Twiglings and the hospital auxiliary There was an art show, craft and game booths and food stands. During the last six months, high school students in Post 1000 met bimonthly to participate in programs on design, research and testing at the Engineering Development and Test '('enter and tours of World Headquarters operations. SUNDAY CALL-CHRONICLE, Two victims of bike crash are identified Allentown police have identified the victims of a double fatal motorcycle accident late Friday on Mack Boulevard as a recently divorced Allentown couple. The bike's driver was Danny D. Deiter 29, of Allentown R.4.

He was pronounced dead at the Allentown and Sacred Heart Hospital Center. The woman passenger was Mrs. Denise Lyn (Keinhard) Deiter, 18, of 257 E. Turner Allentown. She was pronounced dead at Sacred Heart Hospital.

Head injuries were believed fatal to both victims. The two died after Deiter's motorcycle missed a curve on Mack Boulevard near S. Fountain Street, hit the curb and struck a utility pole. Deiter was a crane operator for the Bethlehem Steel Corp. in Bethlehem for eight years.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of Kenneth T. Deiter and the late Evelyn (Leibensperger) Deiter. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Surviving besides his father, with whom he resided, are a son Danny Jr. a sister, Mrs.

Carol A. Lyons of Bethlehem; a brother, Kenneth Jr. of Cata-sauqua, and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Clara Smith of Allentown. Services will be at 11 a.m.

Tuesday in the Thomas A. Burkholder Funeral Home. 3rd and Walnut streets, Cata-sauqua. Calling hours will be p.m. Monday.

Mrs. Deiter was born in Allentown. a daughter of Franklin S. Reinhard of Bethlehem and Mrs. Norene (Freder icks) Maurer of Allentown.

Surviving besides her parents and a son are a stepmother, Lucille (Ardle) Reinhard, and two sisters, Katherine Ann and Cheryl Ann, all of Bethlehem, and her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Helen Fredericks of Kutztown. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Northampton. Calling hours will be p.m.

Monday. Matilda Moconyi Matilda Moconyi, 66, of 520 First Bethlehem, died Saturday in her home. Born in Bethlehem, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Mary (Bober) Moconyi. She was a member of Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, Bethlehem.

Surviving are a brother John of Bethlehem and a sister, Mrs. John Sikora, with whom she resided. Services will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday in the John R. Shupp Funeral Home, 812 E.

He was the husband of the late Anna Marie (Flavello) Reiss. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church. Bethlehem. Surviving are a son, the Very Rev. Gerald Rector of St.

Peter's Episcopal Church, Clarksboro.N.J., and dean of the Camden-Woodbury convocatin of the Episcopal Church; three brothers, Clarence and Arthur, both of Hellertown, and Harleigh of Bethlehem, and two grandchildren. Union Bethlehem, died Saturday in St. Luke's Hospital, He was the husband of Mrs. Esther (Fehnel) Koehler. He was employed by Bethlehem Steel Corp. as a cold saw operator in the beam yard, retiring in 1965.

Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late William and Alice (Wolfe) Koehler Surviving besides his widow are four sons. Robert and Harold, both of Bethlehem. Donald of Gary. and Richard of Santa Ynez. Calif four daughters.

Phyllis. Mrs Virginia Salvatore. Mrs. Rheta Judd and Mrs. Barbara Williams, all of Bethlehem; a sister.

Dora F. Moes Mrs. Dora F. Moes, 83, formerly of 300 E. Broad Quakertown, died Saturday in the Belle Haven Nursing Home, Quakertown.

Her husband, Alois J. Moes, died in 1969. Born in Dresden, Germany, she was a daughter, of the late Alois and Julia Kielbasa. She was a member of St. Isidore's Catholic Church, Quakertown.

Surviving are six daughters, Rosa, wife of Joseph Petrick, Frances, wife of Carl Meyers and Mrs. Dora Myers, all of Quakertown, Helen, wife of Harlan Miller of Bedford, Ohio, Martha, wife of Joseph Kelly of Woodbury, Bedford County and Emma, wife of Edward Oniel of Malvern, Chester County; a son Robert A. of Quaker-town; two sisters, Bertha, wife of Charles Huges of Batavia, Ohio, and Martha, wife of Fred Glutz of Cincinnati; 12 grandchildren and 10 greatgrandchildren. Easterly, 72, formerly of 85 W. Ettwein Bethlehem, died Saturday in Gracedale, Nazareth R.l. He was last employed as chief steward of the Grover Cleveland Democratic Association, Bethlehem, and for 20 years he was a Democratic committeeman in Bethlehem's 8th Ward. Born in Easton, he was a son of the late William and Mary (Boylan) Easterly. He was the husband of the late Jean (Oxford) Easterly.

He was a member of Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, Bethlehem. Surviving are a son, William of Allentown; a daughter Mary Jeanne, wife of Charles Bergermeister of Bethlehem; four brothers, Paul of Bethlehem, Robert and Thomas, both of Phillipsburg, and the Rev. Frederick of Cheltenham, Montgomery County; three sisters, Mrs. Marie Coleman, Ann and Helen, all of Phillipsburg, and three grandchildren.

John Yanders Sr. John Yanders 68, of 434 E. 12th Northampton, died Saturday in his home. He was the husband of Josephine (Kozero) Yanders. Yanders was a painter for Koze Bros, of Allentown 30 years, retiring in 1967.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Joseph and Cecilia (Muhr) Yandersits. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Northampton. Surviving besides his widow are a daughter Dolores, wife of Paul Horvath of Whitehall; a son John Jr. of Northampton; two brothers, Rudolph Yandersits of Brooklyn and Joseph Muhr of Bellmawr, N.J., and seven grandchildren.

Services will be at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Hauke Funeral Home, 4th and Chestnut streets. Coplay, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 in the church. Calling hours will be 7-9 p.m. Monday.

Mrs. Rose DeBerardinis Mrs. Rose (Prosperi) DeBerardinis, 81. of 1146 E. Mechanic Bethlehem, died Saturday in the Zohlmann Nursing Home, Richlandtown.

She was the widow of Louis DeBerardinis. She was born in Italy. She was a member of Our Lady of Pompeii of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Bethlehem. Surviving are three sons, Alfred and Elmer, both of Bethlehem, and Charles of Allentown; a daughter Ada, wife of John Iampietro of Bethlehem R.3; a brother Robert and a sister Mrs. Adeline Marcantognini, both of Bethlehem: 11 grandchildren, 21 greatgrandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

She told police she was driving the Bethlehem Area School District bus east on Bridle Path Road and attempted to stop for the stop sign at Center Street. Brian McDonald of Llndenhurst. was in guarded condition last night at Allentown and Sacred Heart Hospital Center. ljl 9" NEW YORK Eldridge Haynes, 71, founder and chairman of Business International Corp. and a pioneer in the field of business journalism, died Thursday in Huntington, N.Y. In recent years he had lived on St.

Croix, V.I. His company, founded in 1954, began as a publishing operation. A major part of its service was the publication of weekly reports to management on business abroad. A native of St. Louis, Haynes began his career as a reporter for The Brooklyn Eagle at night, while working days in charge of public relations for the Group Insurance Division of Metropolitan Life Insurance Co.

In 1927, he joined R.O. Eastman, of Cleveland, and two years later went to work for the marketing counselor's staff of McGraw-Hill Publishing Co. He served McGraw-Hill successively as sales representative of Business Week, regional vice president in charge of the Middle West, vice president in charge of sales operations nationwide, publisher of Engineering News-Record and of Construction Methods, and as a board member. Haynes resigned from McGraw-Hill in 1940 and founded the magazine Modern Industry, which he published until 1953. The following year he founded Business International, which has its world headquarters here.

Under his leadership, the company grew rapidly and now publishes numerous weekly and reference services from offices in the United States, Europe, Latin America and Asia. It conducts research projects for corporations and governments and convenes discussion meetings throughout the world. In 1970, Haynes resigned from active management of Business International but continued as chairman. Eugene J. Hoagland Jr.

Eugene J. Hoagland 62, of Mount Bethel collapsed and died while trimming brush on the Mount Bethel farm of Richard Reinhardt Saturday. Death was attributed to natural causes by Northampton County Coroner Joseph Reichel. Hoagland was a material dyer for Collins Aikman Pen Argyl, until the company moved its dyeworks to South Carolina in March. Hoagland and his wife, the former Valerie Lamberson, cared for 41 foster children in the last 35 years.

He was born in New Hope, Bucks County. Survivors include two sons, Eugene of Lehighton and Russell, at home. John W. Palmer John W. Palmer, 86, of 606 Pen Argyl Pen Argyl, died Friday in Easton Hospital.

He was employed in the receiving department of Binney Smith Easton, retiring in 1955. His wife, Mary (Ross) Palmer, died in 1973. He was born in Plainfield Township. Survivors include two sons, Glenwood of Bangor and John E. of Danielsville, and a daughter, Mrs.

Hilda Sergent of Pen Argyl. 3 in family 'satisfactory' Three members of a Coopersburg lamny were in sausiaciory conamon last night in a New Jersey hospital with injuries received in a two-vehicle collision Thursday. Dead as a result of the crash is Mrs. Dorothy Cope. 70, of Center Valley R.2 The injured are her brother-in-law, Warren Cope, 62, of Mill Road, Coopersburg; his wife Lillian, 60, and her mother, Mamie Kilhefner, 90.

A spokesman at Burlington County Memorial Hospital, Mount Holly, said the three were treated for multiple injuries and admitted. According to a family spokesman. Warren Cope, the driver, received many cuts of the arms and injuries to the ribs. His wife had head and neck injuries. Mrs.

Kilhefner, who resides with the Copes, received a broken leg and head injuries. The accident was Thursday night when a pickup truck crossed the center line of Route 206 near Vlncentown and sideswiped the Cope car. New Jersey state police said.
