B34 THE MORNING CALL, SATURDAY, OCTOBER 15, 1994 DEATHS THIRD, Allen Stone, 86, former semi-pro baseball player Allen "Monk" Stone, 86, of Brakeley Garden Apartments, Lopatcong Township, formerly of Stewartsville, N.J., died Thursday in Warren Hospital. He was the husband of Ruth E. (Apgar) Stone. They were married 64 years last July. He was a packer in the shipping department of Ingersoll-Rand Phillipsburg, for 30 years, retiring in 1975.

Born in Stewartsville, he was a son of the late Edgar and Bertha (Cole) Stone. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Washington, N.J. In his youth, he pitched for several semi-pro baseball teams, including one game against Hall of Fame pitcher Satchel Paige at Phillipsburg's North End field. Stone was an Eagle Scout, and at one time, coached youth baseball in the Stewartsville area. Survivors: Wife; daughters, Beverly Fucci of Gillett, Bradford County, Barbara A.

Dean of Oxford, N.J., and Anne M. Marugg of Brigham City, Utah; nine grandchildren and 16 great children. Services: 2 p.m. Monday in the church. Call 1-2 p.m.

He was the husband of the late Mabel P. (Strauss) Gery. He was a lineman for Pennsylvania Power Light Allentown, for many years before retiring in 1978. Born in Congo, Montgomery County, he was a son of the late Robert E. and Maggie (Meck) Gery.

Call a.m. Monday. Stephen Miklai Stephen Miklai, 82, formerly of N. Tioga Street, Allentown, died Thursday in Westminster Village, Allentown, where he resided. He was the husband of the late Emma (Bihari) Miklai.

He was a machinist for the former W.F. Mosser Son, Allentown, for 25 years, retiring in 1973. Born in Kozepnyirjes, Hungary, he was a son of the late John and Julianna (Kovacs) Miklai. Survivors: Son, Steven J. Jr.

of Bethlehem; daughter, Julianna, wife of Robert Hazard of Mays Landing, N.J.; brother, John, and sister, Margaret Berta, both in Hungary, and a grandson. Services: 11 a.m. Monday, Weber Funeral Home, 502 Ridge Allentown. Call 10-11 a.m. Monday.

Kenniston infant Shawn Robert Kenniston, son of John and Patricia (Knysz) Kenniston of Bushkill Township, was stillborn Tuesday in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. Survivors: Parents; brothers, Michael and Mark, both at home; maternal grandparents, Eugene and Dolores Knysz of Dingmans Ferry, Pike County; paternal grandparents, John and Faye Kabay of Green Acres, paternal great -grandmother, Mary M. Bennett of West Palm Beach, and maternal grandmothers, Olga Kowal of Saddle Brook, N.J. and Nellie Knysz of Garfield, N.J. Graveside services: Were held Friday.

Forrest P. Miller, 57, of 311 E. Center Stockertown, died Friday in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Carroll (Lehr) Miller. They were married 33 years in August.

He was pastor at Trinity United Church of Christ, Coplay, from 1984 to 1988. He organized and was pastor of Hope United Church of Christ, Wind Gap, for 19 years, serving until 1984. He and his wife owned and operated the Slate Belt Public Nursing School and Day Care Center, Wind Gap, from 1969 to 1988. In addition, Miller was pastor of the churches in the Plainfield UCC charge; was a youth associate at Zion's United Church of Christ, Allentown, 1962-65, and did associate work at Lititz Church of the Brethren, Lancaster County. He served on the steering committee of the Lay Academy of the Lehigh Valley and on numerous ministerial and community committees in the Slate Belt area.

A 1962 graduate of Elizabethtown College, he received a bachelor's degree in divinity in 1965 and earned a master's degree in divinity in 1973, both from Lancaster Theological Seminary. He also received an associate degree in applied science in child care education from Northampton County Community College. He was ordained at Jordan United Church of Christ, South Whitehall Township, in 1965. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Paul H. and Lila (Guth) Miller.

He was a member of Forks United Church of Christ, Stockertown. Miller was an organizer of the FISH program in the Slate Belt area and the Senior Citizens of Wind Gap. He was also a volunteer for the Phoebe Home, Allentown, where he taught Pennsylvania Dutch dialogue. Survivors: Wife; daughters, Rebecca of Allentown and Christine of Minot, N.D.; brother, Dale H. of Allentown, and a granddaughter.

Elsie Harner Elsie Harner, 85, of Church Street, Macungie, formerly of Quakertown, died Friday in the home of her daughter, Lynn, wife of Lloyd Scheuck, with whom she resided. She was the wife of the late Raymond B. Harner. Born in Sandhausen, Germany, she was a daughter of the late Phillip and Elise (Maier) Schneider. She was a member of St.

John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Quakertown, where she sang with the choir for many years. Survivors: Daughters, Lynn, and Sylvia, wife of James Fulmer of Kemah, Texas; son, Walter of Potomac, brothers, William of Quakertown, Albert of Perkasie, and Jacob Kolb of Bethlehem; sisters, Katie Weiss and Anna Kollo, both of Quakertown, Molly Kollo of Perkasie, and Barbara, wife of Benjamin Pfeifer of Chicago, 18 grandchildren, 19 great -grandchildren and a great granddaughter. She was predeceased by daughters, Gilda Leister and Wannie Krecel, and an infant son. Memorial services: 11 a.m. Friday in the church.

Cavanaugh, Quakertown veterinarian Dr. Francis J. "Sam" Cavanaugh, 74, of Quakertown, died Thursday in his home. He was the husband of Agnes "Bonnie" (Burke) Cavanaugh. They were married 45 years last April.

A 1947 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, he was a veterinarian in private practice in Quakertown for 35 years, retiring in 1984. He was also a federal inspector for the United States Department of Agriculture, Reading, for 20 years, retiring in 1980. Born in Quakertown, he was a son of the late Joseph F. and Blanche (Gerhart) Cavanaugh. He was a member of St.

Isidore's Catholic Church, Quakertown. He was past president of Quakertown Lions Club and the Lehigh Valley Veterinary Association. He was a trustee of the National Veterinary Association. Survivors: Wife; son, Dr. Francis J.

Jr. of Gibsonia, Allegheny County; daughters, Alicia B. Goldfeder of Bethlehem and Eileen M. of Media, Delaware County; six grandchildren and a great-grandson. Mass: 10 a.m.

Joseph L. Baracskay Joseph L. Baracskay, 76, of 403 Taylor Bethlehem, died Monday in St. Luke's Hospital. He was the husband of the late Grace I.

Baracskay. He was a brakeman on the narrow gauge railroad at Bethlehem Steel Corp. for 43 years, retiring in 1982. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Louis and Julia (Kovacs) Baracskay. He was a member of St.

John Capistrano Catholic Church, Bethlehem. He was a Navy veteran of World War IL. Survivors: Sister, Julia E. Hoffer of Salisbury Township. Services: Private.

Mortimer R. Lenihan Mortimer R. Lenihan, 66, of Bethlehem, died Thursday in St. Luke's Hospital. He was the husband of Patricia (Galvin) Lenihan.

He was a self-employed general contractor in the Lehigh Valley area until retiring in 1990. He was born in Mount Vernon, N.Y. Survivors: Wife; daughters, Sarah A. Wynne of Morristown, N.J. and Patricia A.

She was the wife of August Stang Jr. A graduate of the Maryland Institute College of Art, Baltimore, she was an occupational therapist for 10 years in Rochester, N.Y., Traverse City, and Le Glendale, until her marriage in 1938.

Born in Baltimore, she was a daughter of the late Harry D. and Eva (Elmer) Phillips. Active in mission, she was president of the Ladies Missionary Society of Saviour Lutheran Church, Trenton, N.J., and was an active member of Boulevard Evangelical Church, Allentown, for many years. She formerly served on the board of the Allentown Art Museum and was former president of the Allentown Garden Club. Survivors: Husband; sons, David Philip and Paul Robert, and daughter, Nancy Louise, all of the Washington, D.C., area, and a brother, John E.

Monday. Margaret Thomas Margaret Thomas, 69, of Tamaqua R.3, died Friday in Good Samaritan Medical Center, Pottsville. She was the wife of the late Evan Thomas. She was employed by the former Atlas Powder Reynolds, for 40 years before retiring. Born in Tamaqua, she was a daughter of the late Russell and Kathryn (Warner) Schaffer.
