He was the husband of Louise (Webster) Arnold. They were married for 57 years in April. He was vice president of the former American Finance Corp. Chrysler First, from 1954 until retiring in 1991. During that time, he formed Project School Works, a program to benefit high school students.

Born in Baltimore, he was a son of the late Arthur and Olive (Shipley) Arnold. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Emmaus, and its council. He also served as a lay reader. He was a first lieutenant in the Army during World War II.

He was a director of the East Perm School District, 1975-1977. Survivors: Wife; daughter, Alice of Seattle, brother, Arthur Jr. in Virginia; four grandchildren and a great-grandson. He was predeceased by a son A. Bruce in 1989, and daughters, Betty Jane Al-brecht in 1993 and Marian Chilson.

Black, 80, formerly of 4109 S. Church Whitehall Township, died Saturday, June 26, in the Phoebe Home, Allentown. She was the wife of the late George D. Black, former Lehigh County recorder of deeds. She worked for the former Rhi-ner Ribbon Mills, Allentown, for many years before retiring.

Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Romeyn and Carolyn (Wenzel) Coffield. She was a member of Egypt United Church of Christ. Active in Republican groups for 40 years, she was a former Republican state committeewoman for 12 years and a past president of the Whitehall Republican Club, Mid-County Republican Club and Lehigh County Council of Republican Women. She also was a past president of the Travelers Protective Association Post Auxiliary, Allentown, and the Whitehall Nursing Association. A board member of the March of Dimes for more than 20 years, she was chairwoman for 10.

She also was a board member of United Way in Lehigh County for 15 years and Whitehall Township chairwoman for 10 years. She was a former board member of the Salvation Army and Boys Club, both of Allentown. Survivors: Sister, Marjorie An-gelo of Bethlehem, and a niece. A graduate of Lebanon Valley College, Annville, Lebanon County, he was director of sales and marketing for the Lutheran Home at Topton and Luther Crest Retirement Community, South Whitehall Township, for nine years. Previously a real estate broker, he owned R.E.

Burrell Realty, Allentown, for more than 20 years. He also taught real estate courses for 10 years at the Fogelsville campus of Pennsylvania State Born in Harrisburg, he was a son of the late C.J. and Edna (Higgins) Burrell. He was an elder of St. James United Church of Christ, Allentown.

He was a tester at the former New Jersey Zinc Palmerton, for 42 years before retiring in 1979. Born in Detroit, he was a son of the late Stephen and Piroska (Borbely) Winkler. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Palmerton. He was a member of the Hungarian Club, Palmerton, and the Palmerton and Bowmanstown Rod-and Gun clubs.
