25, 2007 at the age of 91. She was the wife of the late Robert E. Hersh for 62 years. Born in Shamokin, she was raised and spent most of her life in Allentown before moving to Laureldale for 18 years and recently to Quincy with family six months ago. She trained and worked as a nurse for St.

Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill, for 20 years. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, Quincy. She enjoyed needle work of all types. Survivors: Loving mother of Robert A. Hersh of Lansing, Ruth Jarvis of Quincy and Ricky A.

Hersh of Tioga, six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren. He was the husband of Elvira (Sorrentino) Ricco and they celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary this month. Born in Naples, Italy, he was the son of the late Gaetano and Anna (Auletta) Riccio. Gaetano worked as a machinist for Mack Trucks Allentown, prior to retiring. Before that, worked as a machinist for 28 years for Ingersoll-Rand, Phillipsburg. He was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church, Allentown.

Survivors: Surviving with his wife are son, Franco and his spouse, Maureen, of Allentown; brother, Luigi in Bangor; sister, Immaculata Maiesto of Naples; granddaughters, Fiona, Nicole and Gina; great-granddaughter, Jayleena. Jones Mr. Jack F. Jones, 93, of Allentown, beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather and uncle, died Saturday, December 22, 2007, at Country Meadows in Bridgeville, Pa. He was born September 20, 1914, in Detroit, Michigan. His wife, Dorothy M.

Ridge Lansford, died on December 26, 2007 in the Home In Tamaqua Personal Care. She was the wife of the late Dr. Martin J. Nichols, who died in 2002. She was born in Nanticoke, Pa.

and was the daughter of the late Anton and Sonia Kopatch. She was a graduate of Temple University and a clinic instructor for the former Philadelphia Women's Homeopathic Hospital. She was a member of St. Mary's Russian Orthodox Church, Coaldale. Survivors: Three sons, Martin and his wife, Audrey, of Jim Thorpe, Matthew and his wife, Karen, of Lehighton and Joseph and his wife, Andrea, of Summit Hill; sister, Anna Kryzanski of Lordship, eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.

Ebbert James "Jim" C. Ebbert, 90, of Quakertown died December 26, 2007, in his home. He was the husband of the late Martha (Moyer) Ebbert who died in October, 2000. Born in Greencastle, PA he was the son of the late Albert E. and Margaret (Shook) Ebbert.

He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Millersville University in May of 1941. Jim taught in the Quakertown Community Schools from September, 1941 to November 1942, and again from November 1945 until November, 1946. He left teaching in November, 1946, when he purchased the former Company, Inc. and remained there until retiring in December of 1982. Jim was a director of The Quakertown National Bank from 1962-1995 and of the Quakertown Union Cemetery Company from 1963-1997.

He was a board member of the former Quakertown Hospital Association from 1965-1995, treasurer of the Quakertown School Authority from 1966-2002. He was a member of the Quakertown Lions Club, Quakertown Lodge 512 A.M., Lehigh Consistory, American Legion Post 242, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1622 and the Quakertown Chamber of Commerce. Jim also was chairman of Quakertown Centennial Parade Committee, and a member of Quakertown Water Authority. He was involved in forming Quakertown Little League and was the former secretary of Quakertown Athletic Association as well as the former business manager of Quakertown A. A.

Football. During World War I1 Jim taught pilots celestial navigation in the Army Air Corp. He was a member of First United Church of Christ in Quakertown. Survivors: A sister, Louise Little of Gettysburg; a brother, Daniel G. Ebbert of Sinking Spring, Pa.

He was predeceased by brothers, Arthur J. G. Ebbert and Albert S. Ebbert; two sisters, Sarah Biesecker and Eleanor Guschel. Services: Memorial will be held at 11 a.m.

Thursday, January 3, 2008, in First United Church of Christ, 4th St. and Park Quakertown. There will be no calling hours. The C. R.

Jeffrey A. Naugle Funeral Home. Josephine Kimmel Andrew Kopac Jr. Andrew Kopac 79, of Bethlehem, Hanover Township died suddenly Thursday December 27, 2007, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenburg, Bethlehem. He was the husband of the late Margaret A.

(Yanek) Kopac who died in 2001. Born in Hazin, Slovakia he is the son of the late Andrew and Anna Kopac. Andrew came to America at the age of 21. He worked for Bethlehem Steel Corporation for 42 years retiring in 1992 as a craneman. He was a member of U.S.W.

A.F.L. C.I.O. Local 2598. He was a very kind, charitable and spiritual individual. He attended daily mass most of his life and was devoted to the rosary.

He helped to sponsor many religious men and women via C.N.E.W.A. (Catholic Near East Welfare Association). He loved and cherished his three grandchildren. He also became a fan of football and es-' pecially enjoyed cheering for the Philadelphia Eagles. He was a long time member of SS.

Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Bethlehem. Survivors: Daughter, Mary Ann wife of Timothy Tangel of Smithtown, N.Y.; son, Mark A. Kopac of Bethlehem; brothers, Amborse and Joseph both of Hellertown; three grandchildren; Pamela, Kathleen and William. He was preceded in death by his 14 year old sister who died in Slovakia. Kufrovich John J. "Jack" Kufrovich, 84, of Allentown, formerly of Hilo, Hawaii, for 35 years, died Wednesday, December 26, 2007 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. Born in Mahanoy City, he was the son of the late George J. Jr. and Mary (Rosko) Kufrovich.

He graduated from Mahanoy City High School, class of 1941. He was a police officer if Hilo for 30 years retiring in 1973. After retiring, he worked for JC Penny, Whitehall, for several years. He was a member of Cathedral of St. Catharine of Siena, Allentown.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Survivors: He is survived by a son, Michael and his wife, Angela, of Valdosta, daughters, Beverly, wife of Tom Corbett, of Ann Arbor, Marlene of Hilo, Mary Jane, wife of Morris Fujinaga, of Fairfield, his partner, Janet Demansky, with whom he resided; brother, Robert and his wife, Mary, of Center Valley; sisters, Monica, wife of Joseph Finneran, of Lancaster, Patricia Long of Mahanoy City; grandchildren, Tom, Patty, Bob, Jim, Jennifer, Eric, Ryan; many nieces, nephews. Carl of Essex, Md. on December 26, 2007. He was the beloved husband of 67 years to Hannah L. (Johnson) Hemmerly. Born in Bethlehem on November 22, 1915, he was a son of the late Levi and Ida (Trythall) Hemmerly.

He graduated from Liberty High School, Moravian College, Lehigh University, where he received his master's degree in mathematics and the University of Colorado, where he received his master's degree in physical science. He was employed in the Chatham (N.J.) Public School System, where he taught high school mathematics for 38 years. Upon his retirement in 1978, Howard and Hannah moved from their home in Basking Ridge, N.J. to Lititz, eventually settling in Essex, Md. in the spring of 2006.

From 1976 to 1996, they enjoyed two months each summer at their second home in Indian Lake, N.Y. In retirement, Howard and Hannah volunteered at St. Joseph's Hospital and Lancaster County Meals on Wheels. In addition, Howard kept busy into his late 80s with traveling, woodworking, swimming, painting, gardening and piano playing. His passion for music led him to start "The Moonlighter's Band" in Lititz.

Howard and Hannah have been member of Chatham Methodist Church, Baksing Ridge Presbyterian Church and Lititz Moravian Congregation. Survivors: Wife; children, Marjorie Carl and her husband, Eric, of Esses, Mary Ellen Eckman and her husband, David, of Yardley and James H. Hemmerly of Brooklyn, N.Y.; grandchildren, Laurie D. Burger and Hannah R. Hemmerly; brother, Dr.

William C. Hemmerly and his wife, Mary Lou, of Hellertown; three stepgrandsons, 12 greatgrandchildren; many nieces, nephews; cousins. Services: In their final years, they attended Hope Lutheran Church, Essex, where a memorial service will be held January 5, 2008 at 2 p.m. A second memorial service will be held at a later date in January at Lititz Moravian Congregation, where he remained a member. At Howard's request, a private cremation was held.

She was the wife of the late Thomas F. Kimmel, who died in 1977.

Born in Kintnersville, she was the daughter of the late Clayton A. and Myrta A. (Mies) Miller. Josephine was a 1931 graduate of Liberty High School. She was owner and operator of the Modern Bridal and Formal Shop, Allentown and prior, she was a secretary.

Josephine was a long-time member of St. Matthew's Evangelical Congregational Church in Emmaus, where she had served as worship music leader. She was a member of the Lehigh County Association for Retired Children (A.R.C.) Auxiliary. Survivors: Daughter, Carol A. Sherer and her husband Craig of Pleasant Valley, N.Y.; grandchildren, Heather Sherer of Pleasant Valley, N.Y., and Cristofer Sherer and his wife Margie and their children Emmitt and Malia of Heber City, Utah; sisters, Elsie Roth, Catharine Jordan, both of Bethlehem, Isabella Stephens of Allentown, Myrta Diefenderfer and Jeanette Miller, both of Bethlehem; brother, Stanley Miller of Hellertown; many, nieces and nephews.

Josephine was a devoted mother to her special daughter, Susan E. Kimmel who died in 1999; also preceded in death by her brothers, Robert, Charles, Wilbur, and Clayton and sister, Ferne Encarnation. Born in Lansford, he was a son of the late Stanley and Sophia (Blazej) Kocon. He worked in Experimental for RCA, Lancaster, until retiring in 1986.

Stanley served in the Army Air Corps during World War Il and served with the Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church, Lansford.
