THE MORNING CALL NEWS 22 SUNDAY, APRIL 24, 20T1 Obituaries John 6. Kuller, Jr. lA -(XT In hi. mi. i Richard Samuel Blose Richard Samuel Blose, 84, of Slatington, died Thursday, April 21, 2011 in his home.

He was the husband of Mae Harriet (Deibert) Blose. The couple celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary last August 16. Born in North Whitehall Township, January 23, 1927, Richard was the son of the late Frederick R. and Helen S. (Frantz) Blose.

He was employed as a shell machine operator at the former Trojan Powder Co. in South Whitehall Township for 28 years and then for IMC for 9 years as a chemical operator before retiring in 1985. Richard was a graduate of the Slatington High School, Class of 1943, where he played in the band. He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War with a rank of Sergeant.

He was the recipient of the Purple Heart Medal. Richard was a 50-year member of the Allen O. Delke American Legion Post 16, Slatington and the 5th Regimental Combat Team Association. Active in the life of his church, he was a member of the Friedens United Church of Christ, Slatington, where he served as Treasurer from 1954-1993, consistory member from 1954-1996, sang on the choir for over 50 years, sang in a male quartet and played in a trumpet trio for several years. He was the current treasurer and caretaker of the Friedens Church Cemetery.

Survivors: In addition to his loving wife, Mae; siblings, Lorraine A. wife of Theodore C. Van Norman of Slatington, Dorothy H. wife of Ernest P. Breininger of Fogelsville, Marilyn R.

wife of Carmen J. Cer-rone of Slatington, Clifford F. Blose and his wife, Lucille, of Coplay; several nieces and nephews; beloved cat, Morgan. Services: Graveside services with military honors will be held 2 p.m. Monday, April 25, 2011 at Friedens Church Cemetery, 7227 PA Route 873, Slatington with the Rev.

Born in Allentown, PA, he was a son of the late John G.

and Marie L. Simitz Kuller Sr. He was currently employed at the Eureka Stone Quarry, Sciota, PA as a lab technician, and previously had worked jn the same capacity for the NJ Zinc Co.Horse-head Industries, Palmerton, where he served as Union President. He previously attended Kutztown University. mJack was a member of Ss Peter Paul Roman Catholic Church, Lehighton.

He entered the Lehighton Fire Department in August of 1979, and worked his way up through the ranks and became Fire Chief for the past 15 years. He was a past president of the 4 County Fireman's Association where he served on the executive committee, and served as a Director of the Carbon County Fireman's Association. He held a Life membership at Lehigh Fire Co. 1, a membership in the German-American Fireman's Association, and held social membership's in the Lehighton American Legion Post 314, and the Lehighton VFW Post 256. Survivors: Surviving is a son Joshua B.

Kuller his wife Rosa of Jim Thorpe; one brother, The Reverend Thomas J. Kuller, of Baltimore MD; four sisters, Bernadette W. wife of Gerald Stach-el of Henderson, Nevada, Alicia M. wife of John Brillhart of Ladera Ranch, CA, Lucinda H. wife of William R.

Horn of Lower Macungie, PA, Jane D. wife of James G. Roper of Coatesville, PA; one grand-daughter Vanessa Raviele of Jim Thorpe; a companion, Lorainne Wertman of Palmerton; former wife, Merella Frantz Kershner, wife of Gene Kershner of Weiss-port, PA; nieces and nephews. Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wed. April 27th at 10 a.m.

Bedics, 94, of Macungie, PA, formerly of Bethlehem and Whitehall, PA, went to be with the Lord Thursday, April 21, 2011, at Lehigh Center Genesis Elder Care in Macungie, PA. She was the wife of the late Stephen Bedics who died in 1989. Born in Allentown, PA, she was the daughter pf the late Frederick and Florence (Beitler) Fischer.

Ethel was a Instrument Technician and supervisor for the Bi-tronics, Inc. of Bethlehem for 62 years before retiring in 1994. She was of the Lutheran faith and was a avid Bingo player at the Dewey Fire Hellertown, PA. She enjoyed cooking and baking especially her chocolate cake. Best of all she loved being a Grandmother.

Survivors: She is survived by her; son, Ronald S. Bedics, Sr. of Whitehall, PA; a sister, Mrs. An-netta Horvath of Bethlehem, PA; five grandchildren: Tracey, Tammy, Ronald, Jr. 'Rocky, Terry, and Tina; three great-grandchildren; Stephanie, Cassie, and Robert; four step great-grandchildren, Eric, Angela, Danelle, and Justin; two step She was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters.

Services: Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at the Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Avenue, Northampton, PA. 18067, where the family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the services. The Rev.

Wieand, 99, formerly of Palm, died April 22, 2011 at the Phoebe Richland Health Care Center. She was the widow of Raymond Wieand. Born in Spinnerstown, she was a daughter of the late John and Jennie (Kline) Fegley. She was a 1932 graduate of the Kutztown Normal School. She was an elementary school teacher, first in Milford Square, and then in Palm and Red Hill, retiring in 1969.

She was a member of Trinity Great Swamp UCC, Spinnerstown, where she was a former Sunday School teacher and a past president of the Women's Guild. Surviving: Daughters, Elinore, wife of Glenn Gold, of Bethlehem, and Maxine, wife of Robert Hollinger, of Appomattox, VA; six grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was pre-deceased by siblings, Frederick, Anna, and Amy. Services: A celebration of life will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Trinity Great Swamp UCC.

Frank and Effie M. (Rupley) Kulp. She was a graduate of Sell-Perk High School and Allentown Business College. Grace was the owner of Graceful Flowers for 15 yeans; previously she was the office manager at the Bethlehem office of Monaghan Real Estate and also taught piano in her home. She was a member of Church of the Manger in Bethlehem and an associate member at St.

Matthews Lutheran Church, Bethlehem. Survivors: Husband; daughter, Jeanette E. DeStasio and her husband Joseph of Potts-ville; sons, Dr. J. Stephen Long and his wife Pamela of Allentown and Benjamin P.

Long and his wife Lara of Philadelphia; sister, Ruth K. Hoback of Bethlehem; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter. Grace was preceded in death by her brothers Frank R. Kulp and H.William Kulp. Services: A Celebration of the life of Grace Long will be held at 10 a.m.

Biery. Bom in New Ringgold, April 4, 1919, Edith was the daughter of the late Thomas F. and Ada M. (Dreisbach) Zettlemoyer. She was a member of Union United Church of Christ, Neffs.

Follweiler Arnold L. mChooch Follweiler, 83, of Allentown, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2011 in the inpatient unit of Lehigh Valley Hospice Allentown.

He was the husband of Bernadine J. (Witkowski) Follweiler and they celebrated their 53rd anniversary this past September 14th. Born in Allentown Chooch was a son of the late Samuel and Helen (Lesher) Follweiler. Arnold was a Template Maker for 38 years for the former Lehigh Structural Steel Company of Allentown prior to retiring in 1989. He was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Allentown.

Chooch served his country in the US Army during World War II. He was the Captain of the Lehigh Structural Steel Bowling Team, was on the Union Traveling Bowling League, and bowled at the Harugari, and Sokols Clubs in Allentown. Chooch was a member of the Italian American Bocce Club, was a past member of the Board of Governors, and a past officer of the club for many years. In addition to his membership, he played Bocce for more than 60 years. He was an avid sportsman, enjoying fishing, and hunting.

One of his past times was growing grapes and making wine yearly. Survivors: Surviving with his wife Bernadine are sons; Thomas and Daniel both of Allentown, and James and his wife Connie of New Tripoli. A daughter Linda Kreicher of New Canaan, CT. A brother Richard and his wife Bernadine of Allentown. Chooch has six grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

He was predeceased by brothers; George, Elwood, and Sam. Services: Services will be on Wednesday April 27,2011 at 11 a.m. in the O'Donnell Funeral Home, 908 Hanover Ave. Allentown. Calling will be on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.

LeVan Margaret mMarge A. LeVan, 89 of Allentown, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2011 in St. Luke's Hospital, Allentown. She was married to the late Robert G. LeVan.

She was born in Orwigsburg the daughter of the late George and Helen (Bensinger) Shoener. She was a homemaker and a member of Emmanuel U.C.C., Allentown. Survivors: Son, Terry R. LeVan of Allentown; brother, George Shoener of Orwigsburg; sisters, Eleanor Sandherr and Jean Kovach both of Orwigsburg; brother-in-law, Gerald T. LeVan.

She was predeceased by her sister Mildred Deibert. Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2011 in the Robert Weir Funeral Home, 18th Turner Allentown. Call 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.

Paukovitz, 93, a 60 year resident of Northampton died Friday, April 22, at Arden Court, Wescosville, She was the wife of the late Stephen F.

Paukovitz. Born in Fullerton, and raised in Ormrod and Catasauqua, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Hamilla) Ferenchak. Anna was very proud of the fact that during WWII, while her husband Steve served in the Army, she contributed to the war effort by working on the assembly line at Vultfie Aircraft Company and as a Nurses Aid at Sacred Heart Hospital. Anna was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, and aunt. Anna and Stephen's only child, Na-dine, was born with Cerebral Palsy.

After Na-dine's became active in helping to bring handicap services to the Lehigh Valley. Anna maintained an interest in Washington politics, especially related to the handicapped, even after Nadine's death in 2005. Anna will be greatly missed by the Courtyard staff at Fellowship Community who lovingly cared for her for two and a half years and by the wonderful staff at Arden Court and Heartland Hospice who made her transition from life as peaceful as possible. Survivors: sisters, Rosemarie Mimim, wife of Tom Hall, of Allentown, Cecilia Ferenchak, of Allentown, and her extended family of nieces and nephews. Anna was predeceased by her husband Stephen, daughter, Nadine, brothers, Joseph, John, George and sisters, Olga and Agnes.

Services: Family and friends are invited to call, Tuesday evening 6 to 7:30 p.m., at the Rei-chel Funeral Home 326 E. 21st St. Northampton. PA. Services: Final viewing 9 to 9:45 a.m.

Arthur worked in turnover and assembly for Mack Trucks Allentown, for over 33 years, retiring in 1987. He was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Catasauqua. Arthur was a member of the U. A.
