24 THE MORNING CALL, Allentown, Thursday, Apr. 11, 1968 Deaths of the Day C. J. Scheirer, Sales Manager Of City Store Carmin J. Scheirer, 67, of 1029 Walnut Allentown, sales manager for Leon's Furniture Allentown, died yesterday, in Allentown Hospital.

Scheirer was employed at Leon's for the past 16 years. Before that he was an interior decorator for J. B. Van Sciver's Furniture Store, Allentown. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Franklin P.

and (Smith) Scheirer. Scheirer an Army veteran of World War II. He was of Dubb's Memorial "United Church of Christ, Allentown. Surviving is a brother, William a sister, Viola C. Scheirer, both of Allentown.

Services will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in the Trexler Funeral Home, 1625 Highland Allentown. Viewing will be p.m. tomorrow. Lillian Kompass, Mother of Cleric At Catasauqua Mrs.

Lillian R. (Steen) Kompass, 71, of 3817 7 Huey Drexel Hill, Delaware County, mother of the Rev. Fredrick R. Kompass pastor of the Presbyterian Church of Catasauqua, died yesterday in Pompton Lakes Hospital, Pompton Lakes, N.J. Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Charles and (Beutler) Steen, and was the widow of Frederick R.

Kompass Sr. She was member of Grace Lutheran Church, Drexel Hill. Mrs. Kompass lived most of her life in Drexel Hill, residing with a daughter for the last year. Surviving besides her son, are two daughters, June, wife of Dr.

Samuel J. Nelson Jr. of Fayson Lakes, N.J., and Mrs. Betty Downing of Arden, Wilmington, and three grandchildren. Services will be at 11.

a.m. Saturday in Grace Lutheran Church, Drexel Hill. Viewing will be p.m. tomorrow in the Topitzer Funeral Home, Lansdowne Avenue and Garrett Road, Drexel Hill. Charles J.

Aronowitz Charles J. Aronowitz, 61, of 48 S. Maple Kutztown, retired machinist, died yesterday in the Allentown Hospital. He was employed by the Wenton Shoe Kutztown, before retiring two years ago. Born in Reading, he was a son of Helen (Faleski) Aronowitz Melefsky and the late Charles J.

Aronowitz. He was the husband of Gloria M. (Gareffa) Aronowitz. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Kutztown.

Surviving with his widow and mother are his stepfather, Anthony Melefsky of Reading; two daughters, Eileen G. and Charleen both at home; two sons, John J. of Kutztown and Carl J. of Miami, a brother, John Aronowitz of Pottstown; two sisters, Mildred, wife of Frank Carozza of Reading, and Rose, wife of Joseph Hughs of Morrisville; a half-brother, Edward Melefsky of Bound Brook, N.J.: a stepbrother, Larry Melefsky of Baltimore, and a half-sister, Regina, wife of Teddy Coulston of Temple, and three grandchildren. Services will be at 9 a.m.

Monday in the Fritz Kendall Funeral Home, Kutztown, followed by Requiem Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Kutztown. Viewing will be at 7-9 p.m. Sunday.

William H. Borger William H. Borger, 81, of Kunkletown R. 2, died Tuesday in Palmerton Hospital. Born in Eldred Township, Monroe County, he was a son of the late Harrison and Mary Ann (Frable) Borger.

Borger had been formerly employed for many years as a teamster by the Borger Lumber Co. in Kunkletown. He also had worked on the construction of the Chestnut Ridge Railroad line from Kunkletown to Palmerton. The husband of the late Elsie (Christman) Borger, who died in 1966, he was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Kunkletown.

Surviving are a son, Wesley A. H. of Kunkletown R. a brother, Kunkletown R. five grandchildren and 12 great Services will be at 2 p.m.

Saturday in St. Matthew's Church. Calling hours will be after 7 p.m. tomorrow in the Kresge Funeral Home, Mrs. Frances L.

Oliver Mrs. Frances Lillian Oliver, 73. of 1651 Turner Allentown. died yesterday at home. She was the widow of Floyd M.

Oliver. Mrs. Oliver was a retired employe of the Traylor Engineering Co. of Allentown. Born in Washington, N.

she was the daughter of the late Thomas W. and Lillie (Bloom) Clark. Mrs. Oliver was a member of the Asbury Methodist Church, Allentown. She was a former president and honorary member of the Cosmopolitan Club in Allentown.

Surviving is a sister. Mrs. Ann La Rue, with whom she resided. Services will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow in the J.S.

Burkho'der Funeral Home, 1601 Hamilton Allentown. Motorist Fatally Stricken Michael Ballato Michael Ballato, 48, of 125 Merry Brook Drive, Havertown, formerly of Easton, died Tuesday at his home. He was an accountant. He was last employed by the H. M.

R. Enterprises, Tankard Inn, Conshohocken. Before that he was employed by Linton's restaurants. He a Navy veteran of World II. was.

He was the husband of Anna (Matrango) Ballato. George Dietrich, Rail Engineer For Reading Co. George C. Dietrich of 280 Station Road, Quakertown, a locomotive engineer for the Reading died yesterday in Quakertown Community Hospital. was 46.

He joined the Reading shortly after World War II. During the war, he served in the field artillery. Born in Bucks County's Richland Township, he was a son of the late F. and Estella (Fluck) Dietrich. a arine (Piszczek) Dietrich.

He was the a husband of Surviving with his widow are a daughter, Judith at home; son, George W. of Telford; and a sister, Caroline, wife of Alexander Berninger of Quakertown R. 4. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Strunk Funeral Home, 821.

Miller, 73, of Turner Allentown, was fatally stricken yesterday afternoon at 7th and Hamilton streets in Allentown. He was rushed to Sacred Heart Hospital by Allentown police. Miller was pronounced on arrival at the hospital at 2:35 p.m. Coroner Robert C. Weir Lehigh County said Miller had been under the care of a physician for a cardiac condition.

Miller was born in Pocono Summit a son of the late Gustave and Anna Miller, He retired five years ago after working as a lineman for 42 years with Western Union. He was a veteran of World War and, had lived in Allentown most his life. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Paulette (Chailly) Miller, two brothers, William G. and Howard, both of East Stroudsburg, and a sister, Mrs.

Clara Schnackenberg of Mountainhome. Services are being arranged by the Egan Funeral Home, 413 N. 7th Allentown. Mrs. Charles Wagenbaur Mrs.

Elsie Wagenbaur, 66, of 1910 Lincoln Bethlehem, died yesterday in St. Luke's Hospital. Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of late Eugene and Josepine (Kugel) Schell. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Bethlehem. Surviving is her husband, Charles Wagenbaur.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Ashton Funeral Home, Center and Market streets, Bethlehem. Viewing will be p.m. tomorrow. Donald J.

Pascoe Donald J. Pascoe, 28, 115 2nd Catasauqua, died yesterday in Sacred Heart Hospital. Death was attributed to natural causes. Born in Allentown, he was the son of Mrs. Frances (Yost) Pascoe and the late Joseph Pascoe.

His widow is the former Carol Spengler. Pascoe was a member of Mary's Catholic Church, Catasauqua, and was employed as custodian at the Lincoln Elementary School in Catasauqua for the past three years. Survivors include his mother; his widow; a son, Donald; daughter, Christine; three brothers, Peter of Bradford, McKean County; Joseph, endauqua, and James, at home, and two sisters, Kathleen, wife of George Kraynek, and Frances, wife of Jessie Bretzuis, both of Catasauqua. Services will be at 8:30 a.m. Monday in the Thomas A.

Griffith Mrs. Emma P. (Kern) Griffith. 77, of 271 Walnut Slatington, died Tuesday in the Palmerton Hospital. She was the wife of Noah Griffith.

Born in Slatington, she was the daughter of the late Osman and Maggie (Gundelshimer) Kern. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Slatington. Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, and Roland, both of Slatington; two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Rush of Philadelphia and Mrs.

Doris Kuntz of Laurys Station; two brothers, Edwin of Slating. ton and Allen of Lancaster; a sister, Mrs. Edna Roberts of Slatington; seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Allen E.

Morgan Funeral Home, 1002 Main Slatington. There will be no viewing. A 60-year-old motorist died struck a Lehigh Univeryesterday morning, as his car stiy's Taylor Stadium in Bethlehem. Alex R. Devlin of 531 Hillside Bethlehem, was pronounced dead at the scene by Dr.

Dale Grove of Bethlehem. Death was attrbitued to natural causes, according to Joseph F. Reichel, Northampton County coroner. Police said it is believed Devlin was stricken at the wheel before his car mounted a curb at Packer and Hillside Avenues and struck the wall. Police said Devlin had turned south onto Hillside Avenue when he was stricken almost in front of his home.

Police and a CARE ambulance crew attempted to revive Devlin. He was employed as a crane operator by the Bethlehem Steel Corp. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Alex and Mary (Hanley) Devlin. He was the husband of the former Mary C. Marchak.
