DEATHS THE MORNING CALL. ALLENTOWN. FRIDAY, MAY 9. 1980 D6 Lucy Schankowitz, owned tailor shop for 30 years Mrs. Lucy Schankowitz, 87.

of 2849 Elm Court, Allentown, died Thursday in St. Luke's A Hospital. She was the widow of John Schankowitz. She owned and operated a tailor shop at her former residence at 826 N. Penn Allentown, for about 30 years until retiring.

Born in Austria, she was a daughter of the late John and Anna Deutsch. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Allentown. Surviving are two sons, John P. and Louis, both in Pennsylvania: two daughters, Mrs. Elsie R.

Keglovitz of Coplay and Emma, wife of Henry P. Bachman of Allentown; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Monday in the church. There will be no calling hours.

The Trexler Funeral Home, 1625 Highland Allentown, is in charge of arrangements. Charles H. Stauffer Charles H. Stauffer, 67, of Emmaus R.1, formerly of 209 S. 2nd Emmaus, died Thursday in the Allentown and Sacred Heart Hospital Center.

He was the husband of Elsie M. (Gulden) Stauffer. He worked for the former Neuweilers' Brewery, Allentown, for 35 years, and later was a custodian at Emmaus schools in the East Penn School District until retiring in 1978. Stauffer was a fire policeman and special policeman in the Borough of Emmaus for 40 years. Born in Emmaus, he was a son of the late Harry and Jennie (Kehm) Stauffer.

He was a member of the Lutheran congregation of Western Salisbury Church, Allentown R.2, where he served on the council and the joint board for 15 years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Surviving with his widow are daughter Phyllis, wife of James Peters, with whom he resided: a sister Victoria, wife of Carl Kratzer of North Catasauqua, and three grandchildren. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the church.

Calling hours will be p.m. Sunday in the Reinsmith Funeral Home, 225 Elm Emmaus. Mrs. Stella D. Eshleman Mrs.

Stella D. Eshleman, 84, of 462 Delaware Palmerton, died Thursday in Palmerton Hospital. She was the widow of Gerald J.C. Eshleman. Born in California, she was a daughter of the late Amzi and Elvira (Fourcade) Brown.

She was a member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, Whitehall. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Eis of Palmerton, Mrs. Geraldine Meryweather of Plaistow. N.H., and Mrs.

Ann Mathis of Orlando, a son, Edwin A. of Barnegat, N.J., and three sisters, Mrs. Rose Field, Mrs. Ellen Robertson and Gladys, and two brothers, Charles R. and Allen, all in California; 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the church. Calling hours will be 7-9 p.m. Sunday in the T.K. Thomas Funeral Home, 145 Delaware Palmerton.

Catherine Willever, ex-food store co-owner Mrs. Catherine R. Willever, 79, of 148 Fillmore Phillipsburg, died Thursday in Warren Hospital. She was the widow of William H. Willever.

The couple operated a grocery store many years at Davis and Fillmore streets, Phillipsburg. Born in Phillipsburg, she was a daughter of the late Adam and Mary Reese. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Phillipsburg. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Barbara A.

Kisselbach of Palmer Township, and a grandchild. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Rupell Funeral Home, 465 Memorial Parkway, Phillipsburg. There will be no calling hours. Floyd E.

Itterly Floyd E. Itterly, 88, of Pen Argyl R.1, died Thursday in Easton Hospital. He was a farmer and a slate quarry worker before retiring. Born in Plainfield Township, he was a son of the late Israel and Emma (Hahn) Itterly. He was a member of St.

Peter's Lutheran Church, Plainfield Township. Itterly served in the Army during World War I. Surviving are two daughters. Mrs. Dale Klipple of Pen Argyl R.1 and Mrs.

Mary Jane Buskirk of Bath; a son Louis of Wind Gap R.1, and a sister. Mrs. Cula Achenbach, and a brother Marvin, both of Pen Argyl R.1, and 11 grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Altemose Funeral Home, 202 West Wind Gap.

Calling hours will be after 7 p.m. Sunday. William Maguire William "Barney" Maguire, 82, of Snyder Road, Green Lane R.1, died Thursday in Grand View Hospital, Sellersville. He was the husband of Marguerite V. (Evans) Maguire.

He was a bartender at the Candlewyck Inn, Green Lane R.D., for 11 years before retiring in 1978. Born in Chester, Delaware County, he was a son of the late William and Rose (Campbell) Maguire. He was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Pennsburg R.1. His widow is the only immediate survivor.

April 24 in the St. Francis Heart Center. Roslyn, N.Y. He was the husband of Genevieve Arnold. He was affiliated with the patent law firm of Pennie Edmonds, New York City, for 47 years before retiring in 1970.

Arnold was the mayor of Plandome Manor in the 1940s and also served as water commissioner, attorney and trustee for the village. Born in Saylorsburg, he was a son of the 1 late Steward W. and Amanda (Van Buskirk) Arnold. He was a member of the Palmerton Juniors basketball team, one of the earliest organized teams in the area. He was an Army veteran of World War serving with the Engineer Enlisted Reserve Corps.

A graduate of the University of Illinois in 1921, Arnold received his law degree from Yale University in 1924. He was a past president of the University of Illinois Alumni Association of New York. Surviving with his widow are a son, a daughter, a brother, three sisters, including Bertha Braucher of Palmerton, and two grandchildren. Services were April 27 in Port Washington, N. Y.
